Tharawih is about to be coming upon us again because of Ramadan and alhamdulillah for that and he is saying that last year

There was no public Tharawih because all the messager they're closed

this year

The messager some of them will be open

But there is still some risk and so he is saying

religiously speaking

What is the default position that is is it better to pray with some risk or is it better to stay at home and also he mentions that

He heard me saying a previous lecture many years ago

That the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam always pray that home

So he says that shouldn't this be taken therefore that

The default is to pray Tharawih at home

And

So this is a good question

I'll answer the second bit first

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam prayed Tharawih at home because there was no public Tharawih that was announced during his time frame

The reality is that salah to Tharawih is enough for prayer and that outside of Ramadan it is called Tahajjud

It is Tahajjud

Tharawih is Tahajjud when it is prayed in Ramadan that's the only difference

And Tahajjud is generally prayed by your own and you prayed in the last third of the night

However, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once in his life
