Okay? Here we are all alone together in this quarantine time. Now you and I can complain whether or not it's overkill,

how much truth and how much deception is part of the media presentation right now, but the fact is we are all

hunkering down in our homes.

As a Catholic, I'm actually more stunned by the banning of public masses and cutting off access to the

sacraments. One blessing of being a priest or a bishop is that your vocation is

pandemic proof, meaning canon law permits a priest or bishop to celebrate Mass privately.

But lay people are out in the cold for the time being, not able to receive the body and

blood soul and divinity of Jesus Christ and in many cases not able to go to

confession. And that makes

this coronavirus lockdown all the more difficult. This is just a personal thing.

I have never really seen the point or I've never really gotten a lot out of

watching Mass on television or by a live stream.

That's just me and over time that maybe that'll change.

But today I thought I would offer some recommendations for best practices ideas to spend your time productively in the meantime that go beyond,

well hang out with your family more or think about the important things of life.
