Capitalism is the virus and this is hell. And that is one of my favorite taglines that we've been using on the show of

over the last couple of years and it was inspired by today's guest who is

making his fifth appearance since the pandemic began back in early 2020. We learned

that capitalism was the virus or the driving force behind it from the person we

will be speaking with in a few minutes. It's not like he came up with this idea on his own.

It's something people in his line of work, epidemiology,

have been saying for since at least 2003

with the outbreak of the first pandemic of the 21st century,

severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS.

And as you may know, SARS like COVID

are both coronaviruses.

COVID is caused by our dependence on a system that creates and nurtures an environment

made perfectly suitable for spreading diseases by having contact with viruses that were once safe from us but are now being

released through deforestation. Today we welcome back. Listen to her favorite
