We are pleased to welcome to the set here, UCLA coach DeShon Foster.

Second year in a row, coach, we've gotten to spend some time with you going into the season.

So I guess I want to start with in the last 12 months, what were some things about your first year,

finally being the head coach of the Bruins, that really stand out as things that have

changed about this program? Just mostly just the conference, you know, being in a different

conference to travel. But other than that, I like where we're at now because I'm in familiar territory.

So to piggyback off that real quick, I remember a year ago you said I'm wondering what this team is going to look like when they walk into these stadiums.

It's not quite like all the trips that you had in the old conference.

How do you think your team handled some of those tougher road environments?

I think they did a really good job because I tried to find ways to have them.

We would land and go see the facility. I didn't want that to be on game day that morning because, you know, they want to tweet, they want to Instagram, TikTok, whatever they want to do. I wanted to get that out the day before, so when we do come into the stadium, we're ready to play. But it's awesome. You know, being in the Big Ten, you get to playing venues that you don't usually get to play in, so we're excited. We were able to go to Penn State, played at Nebraska. Also played at Washington, something that we've done before. But, you know, I'm just looking forward to this year going to Northwestern, Ohio State, and a couple other schools. I remember early in the year texting these guys in a group chat during the Hawaii game.

I was like, guys, UCLA, I don't know. And then later on in the year, it's like, this is a different ball team. Like they're actually playing, they're competing, like they're fighting. When was the moment for you that you knew like, all right, these guys are bought in. It's starting to really kind of come together. When we hit that three-game win streak, yeah. It was,

I want to say it was after the Minnesota

game. So after the Minnesota game,

if you would have came out to practice, you could

never tell. After the Minnesota game, you couldn't

tell our

record, by the way we were practicing.

So I was just looking forward to these guys really

coming out here and being resilient and not allowing the outcome of games carry over to the next week. And I think that's when we finally got in our groove and we were able to win a couple games. I know it's a story that's kind of flown under the radar, but you guys do have a new quarterback. Nobody's talking about it. Nobody's talked about it at all. But what has that been like for you to have, you know, to have a

quarterback like that with his skill set, kind of fall in your lap unexpectedly and have the opportunity to get him.
