We're talking about a military coup led by General Abdel Fata-Alberon that was very successful

on October 25th, overthrowing the transitional government. that was installed

Hamdock himself was installed

as Prime Minister of the Transitional Government in Sudan following negotiations with the military,

following their military coup in 2019 that overthrew Prime Minister Omar al-Bashir.

But why overthrow Hamdak when when as our guest today points out General Al-Baran

praised Hamdock for his so-called economic reforms of austerity as prescribed by the International

Monetary Fund that included the abolition of fuel

subsidies, the severe downscaling of subsidies for wheat, electricity and medicines, the

abolition of multiple exchange rates for the US. dollar and the floating of Sudanese currency.

And why overthrow Albashir who took power in a military coup himself

and was doing everything he could to cozy up to the United States, which again suits the interests of the military.

And what of the protests that led to the coup that led to Al-Bashir taking power, then almost

toppled Al-Bashir in 2013 and fueled his downfall in 2019.

What is the state of Sudan's protest movement now and what do these coups reveal about the

divisions within Sudan between urban professionals and the rural poor.
