Right now on fast from bear market bounce to bear market blue stocks falling ahead

of tomorrow's jobs of word hawkish fed talk casting doubts on the pause and

pivot chatter plus gushing gains and energy trade pumping big profits this

week the XLE of 14% as crude has been on a climb and later a major move in

marijuana stocks because of an executive action by the White House and Elon Musk's

new move as he tries to bring the Twitter deal to the finish line Twitter saying

not so fast. I'm Melissa Lee this is fast when you were live in the Nasak

market site a full house tonight. Tim Seawork Karen Pinerman Dan Nathan and

Guy Adami all here with me. We start off with breaking news out of the fed

governor Christopher Waller just now starting to speak at the University of

Kentucky in Louisville. Let's get to Steve Leesman who's got all the headlines. Hey Steve.

Yeah, Melissa and he's throwing more cold water on the pivot trade. He says he

anticipates additional rate hikes into early next year. Current monetary policy says

it's slightly restrictive though he is starting to see some adjustment interest rate sectors

more on that in just a second but he says recent inflation reports do not support a

slower pace of rate hikes or a lower terminal policy rate than he's envisioned.

Policy he says must be used aggressively to bring down inflation. He talks about this issue

of financial stability which has been making the round just whether or not it would stop the

fed from rate hikes. He says financial stability is unlikely to stop that and therefore

unlikely to derail. Vannexal stability says unlikely and therefore unlikely to derail

rate hikes. He sees some increased volatility and liquidity strains in the markets but overall he

says they remain orderly. He says the treasury equity commodity markets are all functioning
