President Biden and former President Trump will square off on the debate stage and the

list of superlatives attached to it is long. It'll be the earliest general election debate ever by a lot. The second

earliest in 1980 took place in late September. It is the first debate between a president and

former president, the first with the convicted felon.

In addition, there's a good possibility

the Supreme Court will rule tomorrow morning

on the former president's claim of criminal immunity

for his actions surrounding January 6th, meaning that by tomorrow night he

could be anywhere from that much closer to another criminal trial to off the hook entirely,

which is quite a backdrop but no less significant than the stakes for both men.
