The past week, we've seen reports of surging coronavirus cases across the country,

bringing with them renewed concern about how the United States is handling the fight against COVID-19. The increase in cases has prompted 12 states to pause reopening plans in some capacity, and the Trump

campaign has postponed events in Florida and Arizona, two states where coronavirus cases are

sharply rising. Meanwhile, on Capitol Hill, the House passed a sweeping police reform bill on

Thursday, however, it may find trouble getting the same support in the Senate. This coming

just one day after the Senate's GOP-led police reform bill failed to advance due to partisan disagreement.

Democrats held the line against it. Our socially distant panel is anxiously awaiting to discuss,

but first, an update from the now half-digital, half-physical campaign trail.

This is really big for the Biden campaign because he actually took questions from the press at a

formal kind of a style. It's been 90 days, give or take a few days since he last did this.

So he's out of the gate and running right now. The obvious reason

for his reticence to have these kind of press conferences and to embark on normal campaigning is the COVID-19

virus. The second factor is that he is 77 years old, so he's in the target range for the worst

symptoms of that kind of virus. And then thirdly, there is speculation and it is widespread. There's no hiding it

anymore that based upon several gaffes that Biden has made in recent months and even in recent years,

that he is experiencing the first effects of some sort of mild dementia or cognitive impairment.
