was that Jimmy Carter, who seemingly everything fell apart on.

It doesn't get discussed much.

Ronald Reagan beat him soundly.

You know, Reagan was a president who would win 49 states,

but for Minnesota would have won 50.

That's unbelievable, to win Vermont, right?

Carter was the sitting president in 76.

He's running for reelection 1980.

Walter Mondale, his vice presidents, his running mate.

The hostages in Iran takes on a really big part of that election,

but that's not the reason Carter lost.

The reason Carter lost is he was challenged

in the primary at Teddy Kennedy,

who was famously asked by Roger Mud,

why are you running?
