Moving on to our first story tonight.

Former Labour Party leader and now independent MP, Jeremy Corbyn, has tabled a bill in Parliament

calling for a Chilcott-style public inquiry into Britain's role in Israel's ongoing genocide in Gaza.

This was Corbyn speaking to reporters ahead of Parliament today.

I'm here outside Parliament, part of, not a thin red line, a very substantial, very thick red line of people supporting the Palestinian people of Gaza and the West Bank and those in the refugee camps.

And as afternoon, I'm introducing a private members bill demanding an independent, independent public inquiry

of the British policy, into the supply of arms, into the complicity with acts of genocide,

into the use of the Royal Air Force Base at Accreterrey, into the sharing of security information,

and demanding that we are told the truth.

Britain stops supplying arms and make sure the Palestinian people get the support, the recognition,

and immediately the food, the medicine, the water, the electricity they so desperately need.

Corbyn presented the bill this afternoon under Parliament's 10-minute rule.

That's a rule that allows backbenchers to introduce potential legislation.

While these bills rarely become law, they allow backbenchers to raise issues in the commons,

potentially triggering a debate and also potentially a vote.
