1:33.0	Now of course, we talk scream queens when it comes to mythology.
1:37.0	The idea that in myth and in Greek tragedy, there are these characters, these women, who we can equate with the traditional scream queens of modern horror slasher fix.
1:48.0	Oh my gosh, so I spoke with Vanessa Stovall, who has been on before and she is so wonderful.
1:56.0	And we had so much fun and just talked modern horror movies and then ancient myths and in Greek tragedy, particularly Persephone and Antigone.
2:07.0	And how they can be seen as scream queens in relation to how we understand scream queens from modern horror.
2:14.0	Oh my god, really utterly fascinating. Also, I mean, as you can tell in this episode, I will take any and every excuse to talk about movies like scream, particularly scream.
2:25.0	At any given point, I absolutely love the scream movies.
2:28.0	I watched them multiple times a year. They are some of my favorite movies of all time.
2:33.0	They feel warm and fuzzy to me in a way that maybe slasher is shouldn't, but they do.
2:39.0	And so, you know, we just had so much fun connecting these to myth and to Greek tragedy and sort of seeing all the ways in which, you know, I mean, obviously this stuff is eternal, right?
2:50.0	Like there's a reason we still love these stories and I just love putting these kind of modern ideas, modern horror onto these ancient characters.
