The latest jobs report is out and causing controversy in the nation's capital. It shows hiring

slowed the last few months by more than economists expected. In fact, it was the weakest three

months for job creation since 2010, outside of the pandemic. The unemployment rate also ticked up to

4.2%. President Trump's reaction to all of this was to fire the official responsible for compiling

the statistics. He accused her of faking the employment data to make him look

bad, though so far he hasn't explained why he thinks that, especially since the data is typically

put together by hundreds of people. And statisticians and economists who served under both Democrats

and Republicans have leapt to her defense, including the person who had the job under Trump
