Summary

What if “control” didn’t mean perfection, but peace? In this episode, Christina Lee, co-founder of Graceful Spaces Organizing, shares how she’s reclaiming the word “control” — not as a path to perfection, but as a tool for peace. We talk about the difference between healthy control and perfectionism, how simple systems can reduce overwhelm at home, and why an organized space should reflect your values, not Instagram standards. Christina opens up about a time she felt completely out of control, the mindset shifts that brought her back, and how parents can take small, doable steps toward a calmer, more empowered home.

About Christina|

Christina, co-founder of Graceful Spaces Organizing — a home organizing company rooted in the belief that organization is about more than just tidy shelves. Graceful Spaces helps families create beautiful, functional, and sustainable systems that support intentional living, one space at a time.

Christina brings to the team a passion for combining detail and design. She has an amazing ability to see the beauty in order and take organization to the next level. Her background as an HR analyst for Bank of America and former special event planning business owner allows her to create step-by-step programs that help households function at their best.

At home, Christina and her husband stay busy with their two young, spunky girls who are exactly one year apart (cue the need for organization!). With a heart for yoga and fitness, her home is constantly moving and grooving with excitement and beautiful energy — proof that a well-organized life doesn’t have to be perfectly still to feel calm.

Control gets a bad rap. A lot of people kind of look at you funny. If you say, no, I want control over my

home or I want control over my life. And, you know, we've touched on this, but it is 100% true. And I say, with the caveat that I can't control all my life, I've done a small business, I've got kids. I've had a husband who had cancer. Like, it's very clear I can't control everything in my life. But I do think we can intentionally set up ourselves for success in a lot of different ways

so that when unpredictability happens, we have this baseline that is calm and peaceful.

It's this agreed upon way of operating.

there, I quickly want to share a minimalist moment I had this week. The other night, my husband and I

and some friends went to see the magician Michael Griffin. He's actually an escape artist. We had a

great time. Three of the six of us were pulled on stage and it just mixed up what we typically do

for date nights. So as I was thinking through what I wanted to share this week, that experience

got me thinking about how little things like this play into cultivating an intentional life.

For us, and this is so cheesy to say, but variety really is the spice of life. When we mix up our
