County San Diego and I feel the military metals behind you in my case that from a family member or

those that is how I got started going to the Solomon Islands. My mother's brother was in the Navy

and he was killed during the Battle of Saddle Island when his ship the Quincy sunk sank and he was

his remains were never recovered and so I actually kind of just made a trip there when I was teaching

in Fiji because basically nobody from the family had ever been there and that was sort of my

introduction to the people of the Solomon Islands, the health care issues with the Solomon Islands

and I've had a 16 year relationship with them and traveled there two to three times a year to work.

Well, my uncle served in the Salt and Islands during two and he was his president Kennedy. He was a

skipper of a PT vote and his PT vote went down in the blackest straight. He was cut into by a Japanese

employer and then he swam. Two of his crew members were killed. One of them was badly burned

and he swam. He had been on the Harvard Swamp team and he swam with all of them six miles to

a nearby island and he could hold one of those on the soldier who was at the sailor who was killed,

he pulled them with a strap between his teeth with a lanyard and brought them to the island and

saved them and then they actually they were there for several days. He was declared a missing
