Thanks so much for listening. Today on the podcast, if we're in a constitutional crisis, what next?

The rhetoric has amped up from House Democrats, specifically House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler of New York.

And now this morning, just a short while ago, Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the House, said that she agrees with Jerry Nadler that we are in the midst of a constitutional crisis.

Here is Speaker Pelosi this morning.

Yes, I do agree with Chairman Adler because the administration has decided that they are not going to honor their oath of office.

Now, he's staked out because he has seen so much in the committee, the committee work.

I'm very proud of the judiciary committee and the work that they have done.

In a certain bit of timing, when we're ready, we'll come to the floor.

And we'll just see it because there may be some other contempt of Congress issues that we want to deal with at the same time.

And he wants to do it as soon as possible, and so do we.

Now, in addition to agreeing with Chairman Nadler that we're in a constitutional crisis,

that as Nancy Pelosi sees it, the Trump administration, the president himself sees absolutely no value in the three co-equal branches does not seem from her point of view to be upholding the oath of office that he took on the west front of the Capitol in January of 2017, where he swore to uphold and defend and protect the

Constitution. Obviously, the president would disagree with that. But here is where we're now at.

You've got a complete stonewall operation from the Trump administration. They don't want to give

Democrats an inch on Capitol Hill.

This, I think, is what you would expect for most administrations versus Congress, especially of

opposite parties. But obviously, the Trump administration has sort of made a blanket sort of rule

around this now, which is like you're getting nothing. You've got a subpoena from the Senate, the Republican

controlled, Republican controlled Senate Intelligence Committee, subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr.

to come back and talk about perhaps some discrepancies between what's in the Mueller

report and what he initially told the Senate Intel Committee
