Bettina Morrow -
 
With over 20 years of experience, Bettina’s professional career has spanned across Australia, England and the U.S., Bettina has spent the last 15 years working with at-risk and vulnerable adults with specific expertise in elder abuse, dementia, IDD and guardianship. Bettina has obtained a Bachelor of Social Work, a Masters in Dementia and is a Nationally Certified Guardian. Bettina is a strong advocate for policies, programs, and practices to recognize and incorporate the rights of people with IDD and dementia.
 
 
Paul Greenwood -
 
Paul is a nationally and internationally renowned (retired) district attorney with over 40 years of practice specializing in elder abuse and felony criminal prosecution. Paul is dually qualified to practice law in the UK and California (Paul is English). In 1996 Paul established a new prosecution unit in San Diego that specifically focused on prosecuting felony elder abuse crimes and has prosecuted over 750 felony cases of elder abuse.

Rick Mountcastle -
Rick is a former Federal Prosecutor and is known for the award series on Hulu “Dopesick: which focused on his case and work to bring down Perdu Pharma. Rick has also had many cases against nursing homes and rehab facilities that have led to large financial penalties and fees for neglect and abuse.

Susan Carson - Susan is a Registered Nurse in the E.R. specializing as a Forensic Nurse Examiner and is very familiar with Elder Abuse and the medical side of the issue. Susan has also worked along side Bill Lightfoot for many years.

for being with us today in the esteemed panel. I would like to start by asking you all to do a

short introduction of your background, credentials, experiences, and anything else you'd like to

share with our audiences. Paul Greenwood, I'd like to start with you. Sure. Thank you, Lance. Yeah, my name is

Paul Greenwood. I am a lawyer. I've been a lawyer for over 43 years initially in the UK,

where I was first a trainee barrister, then a solicitor. And then for 25 years, I was a career prosecutor with the San Diego

District Attorney's Office. What brings me to the table today is the fact that I was fortunate

enough for 22 of those 25 years to prosecute crimes committed against older adults that

California defines as anybody over the age of 65, ranging from physical

assaults, homicides, sexual assaults, rapes to neglect and elder financial exploitation.

Since I retired from that office, I've been very involved with AARP nationally to try to extend and share the information that I've learned in the

courtroom over 25 years with a wider audience.
