| 1:08.6 | a while, so I'm excited to have this conversation today. I always like chatting with you about what's going on and trying to give people some tips and tricks to survive the world of senior care. |
| 1:20.6 | Yes, yes, and they need those survival tips. That's for sure. You know, I think today we're going to talk a little bit about the importance of having your legal paperwork documented and up-to-date. And there's countless reasons for that. You know, one for me is always to make sure as far as health care goes that your wishes are honored and respected and ultimately enforced if you can't advocate and enforce them yourselves. |
| 1:47.1 | But then there's also the financial aspect of it too. |
| 1:52.3 | You know, as we age, you know, we encounter health issues or it could be when we're younger, |

| 2:08.9 | surviving family, it makes life a lot easier for them. It avoids probate court. It also, |
| 2:14.7 | again, make sure that the wishes and, you know, the estate is divided and |
| 2:20.0 | contributed to the people that it was intended for. And so we were talking. We decided that |
| 2:24.9 | would be a good topic for this month. So I'll turn it over to you. Well, and I just want to give |
| 2:30.8 | a caveat that neither of us are attorneys. So, you know, this is just what we hear and have personally experienced ourselves. |
| 2:39.7 | And, you know, I'm a firm believer that everybody, and we should be teaching this in school, actually, when people turn 18, they should have powers of attorney and health care directives. |
| 2:52.3 | Maybe not a will, because most people don't have, you know, things at that time. But I think at least the power |
| 2:58.8 | of attorney and the health care directives are really, really critical. You mentioned about |
| 3:05.7 | families. You know, we have a few, we have a few nuclear families, but a lot of them are mixed or blended. |
