I am very, very pleased this afternoon on the warning to be joined by Virginia

Congresswoman from the 7th District in her third term, Abigail Spanberger.

Welcome, Congresswoman.

Thank you so much for having me.

So I'm really excited to have you on today for a lot of different reasons.

But the first is this.

It's simply not true that every member of Congress is a ne'er-do-well, is a crook, is somebody who, on any given day day should be institutionalized.

There are some exceptional people, people of judgment,

people of intellect, people of character, who are patriots,

who you want in positions of responsibility for the nation's future, for its security,

in the present, and looking down the road 50 years from now.

And this is one of those people.

So I am really thrilled to have her with us today to talk about the future of the country and this moment in

politics. So I'm really thrilled to have you. Thank you for the kind words. Thank you. And yeah,

I'm proud to serve and proud to be considered among those who are not near-do-wills.

So I think that history can teach us a lot.

We can look back at its lessons.

It tends to repeat itself or at least as an imitation.

But the one thing we can't know from history is we can't know what it felt like in the moment, the tension.

When Franklin Roosevelt was facing off against Charles Lindbergh in 1940 and the Lenwies Act passed by a handful of votes,

or when the draft was maintained in 1940 by a single vote. And you think about the implications

if the U.S. Army had not begun the draft when it did before Pearl Harbor,
