Our guest today, Congressman Richie Torres, he's a Democrat out of the Bronx, one of the youngest members of Congress and pretty outspoken on a number of issues.

And so it was great to have him in studio here in New York, just a few miles south of his district in the

Bronx. A fascinating story, Richie Torres, grew up with a single mom minimum wage in the slums

in the Bronx and made his way to be a member of Congress. It is a fascinating story that we get

into. We talk about what his upbringing and his experience has meant in a Congress

that that's not the typical profile of a number of members of Congress, some who come from

a lot of means. And so Torres talks about that experience. We also talk about the state of the

Democrats right now in the minority in Washington, how they're attempting to fight back against

Trump, the challenges

they're having, and he's pretty candid about his criticism for Joe Biden, for his fellow Democrats,

and the path he thinks Democrats need to take to regain power in Washington. Notably, it's a very

different path than his neighboring Congresswoman, AOC. We talk a bit about that. We talk about immigration,

the border fight, the deportation and due process questions that have come up and have gone to the

Supreme Court. We also talk about tariffs. He is a member of the House Financial Services Committee.

So we talk about what the president is arguing here and what Torres has to say about it.

What's also very

interesting, and I think a lot of you may know him for this, is his very prominent support for

Israel. He is a Puerto Rican congressman from the Bronx, but is a very strong Zionist supporter of

Israel, and he's taken a lot of criticism for that from the left, and so we talk a bit about

that as well,

as well as all things New York, his political future. He is a big supporter of Andrew Cuomo,
