James Ril Jones as Thalsadoom, the villain, is directed by John Millius, who was the writer for the first two Dirty Harry films.

He received an Academy Award nomination for his work as Screenwriter on Apocalypse Now, and then went on to write and direct,

Conan the Barbarian and the Red Dawn among others, and it was little known fact written by Oliver Stone, who later went on to fame and fortune writing and

directing such films as JFK platoon Snowden naturalborn killers any given Sunday etc.

This was actually Arnold Schwarzenegger's first commercially successful film.

Made a hundred million dollars you can definitely see that it's he's kind of rough around the edges in here but I think that's part of this

movie's charm it's been I have a lot I have a lot of affection for this film

because my cousins and I grew up kind of like you know we were eight to 10 year old

boys when Conan and the destroyer the destroyer and the destroyer came out it's very

quotable it's got a lot of action and scantily clad females

Jim it like I said it's been it's been a minute since we've seen this film. I don't know how many times you've seen it and how long it's been for you but

kind of like what you think how did it hold up thoughts I can't actually remember how many

times I've seen this movie because I know you know we watched it together as roommates but at least I think we did that might have been the destroyer
