Hey, welcome back to the How to Barbecue Right podcast.

I'm your host, Malcolm Reed, joined by my lovely, talented, fresh from the beach, tan and everything.

Wife, Ms. Southern Shell, was your, uh, girl's trip fun?

It was a blast.

Well, me and Michael had a great time paying ball all weekend.

Yeah, a little buddy that hung out with us.

I'm guessing I had a better weekend than you.

You know, kids, man, they're great.

We spent our time at the ballpark.

He won some ball games and good.

He's having a good time playing baseball this summer.

He is.

We've had, so we've been busy this week because it seems like we've been to ball field

three times of, three or four times this week. And then they got a tournament coming up next week. You know, it's going to knock me out of a contest. Mark Lambert just added, I mean, I don't know when they announced it. I just saw it a few, maybe a week of show go, but they're having a big contest out of his place in by hell you a state contest

are they doing like a rib cookoff and a state contest no it's a i want to say it's cocktail

cocktail cocktail yeah it's two solo cups you turn in one cup for the drink that you're judged on

and one cup's kind of your presentation cup yeah but it has to be solo yeah solo cup. Yeah, it has to be a solo cup. That's all that. I want to enter that one. We're going to be at the ball. We've got a ball tournament. We've got a ball tournament so we can't. I wish we could because I would be there. It's a big hot. See, I've heard that contests might be winding back down again.

Yeah, so that's our first big news.

I got the email yesterday.
