socio-economic structure that we live inside, this week we're going to explore something

a little less intense, common 401k mistakes to watch out for.

Now I know what you're thinking, wow, that sounds riveting, but I actually think this

episode has the potential to be extremely actionable for you, and I don't want to

to my own horn, but may have the potential to make you a lot of money if actioned upon.

So for most young people whose parents are not fin-twit influencers opening Roth IRAs

for their two-year-olds, your first brush with investing on your own will likely be through

your employer-sponsored 401k plan, and for those of you whose employers don't offer a 401k

plan, we will organize a peaceful protest.

I still remember panic testing my mail roommate when I was setting mine up for the first

time.

This was pre-my money with Katie Financial Awakening, so I had approximately no fucking idea

what I was doing.

After I had my traditional versus Roth breakdown, side note, I chose Roth at the time because

I was making $52,000, though in hindsight, I wish I would have chosen traditional because

back then, my contributions were still taxed to 25% in those tax brackets, but after that

was over, I had to pick what my contributions would be invested in.
