Have you ever heard things like the following from the pulpit or read things like the following in a theology or

catacatical textbook. The truths of the Bible are not immutable because the Bible is dependent on

the culture in which it was written. The Bible is inerrant only in its spiritual

meanings like the parables. In John chapter 6, the real miracle of the multiplication of the

loaves is that people suddenly began to be generous

with the loaves and the fish that they brought with them that day. It's more important to serve the poor

than to pray to God. The great world religions are like spokes in a wheel.

Now the hub of the wheel is like God and the closer the spokes are to the center, to the hub,

the more similar they are and the further away from the source, the more they appear

to be different.

Jesus is a way to salvation, you could say he's the privileged route or something like that, but even atheists can be saved

without coming to a knowledge of the Savior. The only reason women can't be

ordained to the priesthood is because of patriarchy, which is bad.

It's more important to be guided by the Holy Spirit as opposed to having some institutional

church telling you how to live.

God's existence can only be known through faith, not through natural

reason. Like species in creation, Catholic dogmas can and do evolve over time.

Adam and Eve were not too literal human beings but two literary

myths written by primitive authors to tell the mysterious story of the origins of the

human family. There are no exceptionalist moral norms when it comes to human behavior because cultures change over time.
