Hey everyone, I'm Father Jim Martin.

I'm a Jesuit priest, author, and I'm the host of a brand new podcast called The Spiritual Life.

Each week I'll be joined by a special guest and will reflect on how God is at work in their prayer and in their daily life.

It's great to be here with you sinners.

I think I describe myself as a lover of God.

He says, look, run all you want.

God's after you.

And I'll answer your questions too, like, what do I do when I get distracted in prayer?

And how do I hear God's voice in a noisy world? Rather than settling for easy answers, we're going to take seriously not just the joys and consolations of the spiritual life,

but really the challenges and the struggles as well.

I was not somebody who wanted certainty all the time. I wanted, you know, the mess.

I'm looking to the crucifix for the suffering because that's when I need the crucifix

in the suffering.

Throughout all of this, I hope to help you move closer to encountering the mystery of God

in your life.
