where, when, and how we educate young adults once and for all about sex. And what exactly

goes on in a college-level class at the University of Washington called the Diversity of Human

Sexuality. My thought partner today is Dr. Nicole McNichols. She's a fierce advocate for grounded,

informed, inclusive, and specific conversations about this thing that plays such an important

role in our lives as individuals and, of course, as a society. Please note that today's

episode, in addition to discussing sex, also touches on sensitive topics such as eating

Welcome back to Kelly Corrigan Wonders. I'm Kelly Corrigan, and today is another episode

in our live from college series. My guest is a psychologist and a sex educator. Her name

is Dr. Nicole McNichols. She teaches a class called Psych 210, the Diversity of Human Sexuality,

at the University of Washington. Nicole's teaching philosophy is sex positive. Her course

emphasizes safety and pleasure. She embraces LGBTQI plus identities and issues. She reject

shame and stigma, and acknowledges that our sexuality feeds into the very essence of

our self-identity and happiness. Nicole and I talk about her class, the positive effect

she feels it has on her students, and her strong belief that sex education should be an

integral part of any liberal arts curriculum. Here is my conversation with Dr. Nicole McNichols.
