And today we're going to talk to a current political orphan

and former member of Congress, Mr Scott Clouge,

who I alarmingly agree with.

Like I agree with him so hard

that at one point in today's program I openly speculate

that he's just me time traveling through the future.

We have a great chat about why politics has become such garbage

its proximate causes and how we could fix it and specifically we tackle two very

important questions. For those of us who don't like the two-party system, the Duopoly, does

breaking out of it take the shape of an outsider ideological party like the libertarians that

offer a clear alternative to the left right spectrum?

Or does it come by tacking to the center to pick up moderates like no labels was set to do?

And just in general, how do we fix all this? Like as a former member of Congress

who's been in power, who's seen it from the inside, what reforms that are realistically

possible would you want to put in place to make politics

less horrible and stupid and just, you know, everything we've been seeing for the last 10 years.
