And today's pod starts in 1984, where the Lakers and Dr. Bus and Magic Johnson agreed to a 25-year contract extension,

which was a furthering of the idea, I believe, that Dr. Bus saw Magic as his partner as much as anything.

And I think that that event is something that still has ripple

effects through the Lakers organization today and how they see things. Now, it's Jeannie,

who's in Dr. Bus's seat. And if you've ever heard Jeannie talk about the way that she values

superstars and their

input and their presence on the team, she has a special reverence for that.

She has some great stories that if you'd ever want to look up.
