Bitcoin ending a record-setting week in the red, but still many silver windings ahead.

Cryptomarkets are cooling following Thursday remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, saying,

quote, the economy is not sending any signals

that we need to be in a hurry to lower rates. The strength we are currently seeing in the economy

gives us the ability to approach our decisions carefully. CME Fed Watch data is showing the chances

of a Fed rate cut at its next meeting in mid-December have fallen to 55% in the wake of Powell's

hawkish comments. Two days ago, those chances stood at 83%. But what has the Bitcoin community

really revved up for the new year is the establishment of a U.S. Bitcoin Reserve. Bitcoin

magazine CEO, David Bailey, saying on X, the verdict from the experts is the president has the authority to establish the strategic Bitcoin Reserve without Congress and implement a fairly large acquisition program.

Tens of billions of dollars to go bigger will need Congress.

But we can start right away at a micro-strategy-esque scale.
