Summary

Gary Parrish and Matt Norlander get into an issue that bothers both fo them: the idea that a 72-team NCAA Tournament is superior to a 68-team NCAA Tournament. But that's the proposal put forth by the ACC coaches. Will it catch steam? The guys give reasons for why it could die a quick death -- or gain steam. They also get into some results from this week's NBA combine, focusing their discussions on Donte DiVincenzo, Marvin Bagley III, Michael Porter Jr. and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Hey there, it's Gary Perish. It's Friday, May 18, 2018. Welcome back to the Ion College

0:19.5

basketball podcast. I got Matt Norlander here with me. He cuts his own yard regularly.

0:23.6

Norlander, what's up with it?

0:25.4

I'm doing okay, GP. I've spent the entire week being a stay-at-home dad as I always

0:31.0

am, but a solo stay-at-home dad. Quite happy, my wife on her way back from San Diego.

0:37.9

And I finally get help. You never have more appreciation for your wife than when you have

0:42.3

to do the solo parenting duty. JP, I know you are very familiar with this, even though

0:47.8

I can't possibly compare to you as you've got three to my one, but it's great to be back

0:52.7

with you on this Friday.

0:54.0

I can't tell you, though, when we only had one, because for people who don't know, I have

0:58.8

three children, all boys, but they are spread out. We had, we have a 15-year-old, a four-year

1:03.4

old, and a one-year-old. So we had one child when we were too young to have a child, probably,

1:09.0

and then we had two when we were too old to have children, probably. And I can remember

1:13.5

when we just had one. And the first time Kelly went out of town and actually left me with

1:20.9

our oldest son, who was our only son at the time, he was probably like three or maybe

1:26.3

like four or five, because I know that I had to take him to kindergarten the next morning,

1:30.3

like that whole week. So she was gone for like three days. And so I was in charge of a four-year-old,

1:36.7

five-year-old for three straight days. And I thought I was going to lose my mind, like

1:41.8

just absolutely overwhelmed, like had a moment where I was like, I can't do this anymore.

1:46.5

I have to call like my mother or somebody else's mother. And now I think I'm better equipped,

1:51.1

because I'm with a four-year-old all the time. And I'm with actually on Saturdays now,

1:54.7

since basketball season's over, and my wife, you know, she owns a children's boutique.
