Summary

Online voting did not go as planned last week during the quest to find a winner in the Co-Main Event Podcast music contest. Nobody’s fault, really (except maybe the dudes who wrote up the rules for the contest itself) but in the end Ben and Chad had no choice but to declare the thing a draw. Thing is, though, that could well turn out to be a blessing in disguise, as now the CME has two dope new themes to choose from during the next month or so before going back to the beloved original theme. Anyway, to get the details, you’re going to have to listen to the show. You’ll want to do that anyway, as this week the guys break down the stark contrast between the final two fights on last Saturday’s UFC on Fox broadcast, look ahead to Jose Aldo’s title defense against Chan Sung Jung (that’s the Korean Zombie, you guys) at UFC 163 and wonder when the UFC’s gonna break the news to us that it’s moving its operation to Brazil on a full-time basis. All that, plus AYFKM and Just Sayin’ Stuff. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

were expecting if they followed the voting online.

0:49.9

As I assume everybody did, just eagerly watching that voting.

1:00.1

As it turned out, we had some trouble with the online voting portion of the contest.

1:03.2

I believe you referred to it as a malfeasance at one point.

1:12.0

Well, I know it was a cluster fuck, and that is probably the fault of the co-main event podcast more than anyone else.

1:13.1

I blame voter fraud.

1:19.9

As it turned out, the winning, I guess the entry that garnered the most votes,

1:24.8

had been the beneficiary of a social media campaign,

1:29.6

started not by the guy who turned in the the entry but by one of his friends who uh i guess is is really hooked up in the local fight community uh in the city where

1:36.8

they live causing a huge influx of votes for his entry not technically illegal no see that's

1:42.8

the thing we didn't bother to make any rules. Because we didn't bother to make any rules, really.

1:45.3

Because we didn't bother to make any rules about the online voting, which I guess,

1:50.4

man, when you think about it, that's just naive.

1:52.5

Like, we should have, we should have thought of that, but didn't.

1:54.8

We put our trust in the goodwill of our listeners and look where that got us.
