And directly below us is where this cave rescue is unfolding as we speak.

That's how it sounded as CNN's Will Ripley flew into the remote jungle area of Lough where dramatic cave rescue is underway.

CNN is reporting exclusively from the scene.

It took a 45-minute helicopter journey, a 30-minute drive, and then a short hike to reach

the rescue site.

Seven villagers descended into the cave more than a week ago, but became trapped after

unexpected flash flooding.

Five were found by rescuers in an air pocket, alive, but extremely hungry.

The two others are thought to have entered the cave earlier, unconnected to the five, and are still missing.

Now a rescue diver says one of the five villagers has made it safely out of the cave.

The four others remain inside awaiting evaluation

and the search for the two missing divers

will continue tomorrow.

but says she's overjoyed to know he's alive.
