Welcome to The Lost Debata Show for Politically Ecclectics. I'm Robbie Gupta. And in a little bit,

we're going to hear from Reid Albergotti from Semaphore. And we're going to talk all about open AI,

like the trends in artificial intelligence companies, et cetera. It's a topic that we had done so many

episodes on, six to nine months ago, 12 months ago, but because of the 2024 election,

we haven't covered in a while. And there's a lot that's happening in that world. So stay tuned

for that. But before we get there, let me just take a step back. I've been sick. I've had a cold

for now, I think, nine days, which is as long as it's ever been. I've been this sick.

And colds are annoying because you're

just sick enough that you can't do all the things you want to do, like work out as much

as you want to do or go out. But you're not so sick that it's obvious you can't do those

things. So I've been like trying to get out there and then I'm pushing, pulling myself back,

et cetera. But one thing I've done as I've been

trying to force myself to stay home is watch the show called Northern Exposure, which for you

old heads out there, you'll remember the show from the early 90s. It's all about a doctor from New York

who moves to Alaska. And it's kind of all about this small town. It's kind of a, and if you like the Gilmore Girls,

it was an inspiration for Gilmore Girls. Like the creative Gilmore Girls says that it was the show

that she most had on her mind as she designed Stars Hollow. But there's this character in Northern

Exposure called Chris Stevens, who's like a radio host, and he just gets on and he just waxes

poetically about, you know,

literature and his feelings and the meaning of life and all that. I think as we get to and through

this election, I think this podcast is going to start to sound more and more like that. But let me do

my best today to sound concrete. And I want to start by checking in with what the candidates are doing.
