This make or break hour begins with alphabet. shares hitting a record intraday high as it gets set to report fourth quarter results after the bell.

We're going to break down what's at stake for the tech giant and the sector overall with our panel of experts in just a moment.

with 60 minutes to go in regulation. The majors are in the green with Wall Street looking to find

its footing following the latest developments on the global trade front. The NASDAQ and the S&P 500

seeing gains. Dow's actually joined them as well up a third of 1%. Thanks apart to strong results here

from Palantir.

set it up for us on Alphabet. What are we looking for and why is the street getting optimistic?

So Alphabet is such a noisy print, right? Because you've got the bread and butter, which is of course the core search advertising business, but they're trying to turn this massive ship and really gain credibility in AI. And I mean, all the tools are there. It has the technical talent. It has the technology breakthroughs. It has the distribution. But people just haven't adopted it in the same way as

a chat GPT and now even a deep seek. So Sunderbichai, the CEO, has said that this year, he wants

to get 500 million people using Gemini, the Gemini app, which is its chatbot. So really, this is

kind of like a prove it year for Google. If you think that AI is the most important race, they have to continue to stay ahead in terms of the technology, but they also have to get users to adopt it.
