I'm an author speaker coach entrepreneur and I wanted to take my life to the next level I called the publicist in New York about three and a half years ago and I said hey get me on the today show to.

Promote my new book what they teach you at the Wharton Business School and she laughed at me.

She said Clint that's hysterical they're never going to put you on the today show you're a middle-aged guy with no TV experience.

Nobody's ever heard of you nobody's ever bought your book why would they put you on the number one television show in America.

I said all right I'm a native New Yorker get me on NBC New York in the morning so I can talk about it on the morning news.

She said Clint I think I've got you figured out you're not really a business author you're a comedian because that's the second hysterically funny thing you said to me in 30 seconds they're never going to put you on NBC New York.

You're a middle-aged guy nobody's ever heard of you got a self-published book nobody's ever bought you have no TV experience you're not famous you're not a politician.

Why would they put you on the number one show in the number one market in America you got to start small and just then I got an email from Southwest Airlines on my iPhone I looked and in the email and there was a root map and I said all right lady you can't get me on an NBC New York how about

Salt Lake City can you do that and she said oh I could do that I could do Salt Lake City or any of the

minor cities outside of the top 10 markets in America for only 1500 bucks a piece so I said great get me on there and I'll show them how great I am and then I'll be on the today show and a couple days later
