As we continue to broadcast live out here at UH, of course, we're out here for the crucial

catch. It is crucial catch month, something near and dear to our heart with the Cleveland

Browns, but also in the NFL, of course, and for some perspective on that. We're joined

here on site by Dr. Jordan winner, director of surgical services and chief of surgical

oncology here. Doc, thank you so much for taking the time and this is something that it

touches all of us, but the NFL is buying here in October to make it to make it something

you really pay attention to and get to the forefront and then get that message out

to the fans. How important is that? We really appreciate it. Cancer does touch everybody.

One in four people will die from cancer and one in two will have cancer in their lifetime.

And it's something that we all know somebody, often I love the one a family member and it's

so important for us to be aware of ways to catch it early, prevent it and treat it with

our best available therapies. Why is it so early? Why it's so important to catch it early?

The best chance we have of curing patients with cancer is to catch it early. Cancer cells

can travel and once it is left the primary site, it becomes very difficult to treat, but

if we can catch it before that happens, most of the time we can treat it either by removing

it, surgery, or with some of our other therapies. It's pretty amazing. It's ever evolving

and you guys are constantly studying. What are some of the new advances that are being

put into practice now than maybe weren't five, ten years ago?

Well just on the subject of detection, something that really is changing the field is our ability
