All right, let's do a live on a Tuesday edition of Cleveland Brown's Daily. I am merely Bo Gerard on the other side of the screen today downtown. Of course at the place you'll good karma studios downtown. Give me and I continue to be at the undisclosed location on the west side of Cleveland.

How are you living, buddy? I am living well, my man. It is a sunny day, Bo, so you'll get no complaints whatsoever out of me because as you know, in Northeast Ohio, heck any part of Ohio, you take these days and you embrace them.

You go up them up, brother. I mean, we've had it's been a good run like Saturday morning rainy, but other than that, it's been a good run for about 10 days, I think, where we've had a nice stretch.

I'm told it's supposed to last through June 1st, really, which would take us to the weekend, then you're good, then you're through summer at that point, you're in summer. Yeah, you're not going to get 50s anymore in June.

I would hope not. Yeah, that's I think it's going to be a little chilly on Thursday, like it might be around 60 low 60s, but then it's right back up for the weekend. See, I need that to last the Thursday because God willing, my daughter who's running track right now, she has a region is coming up this week.

It's past that then we got state and then the next you know is what it is.

Well, where's so regional, where's regional, where's the regional meet? It's going to be outside a youngstown.

I've been basically going back and forth from youngstown in Kent for the past three weeks.

And state is state, so Jesse Owens. Yes, it is. Yes, it is. Nice. Nice.

And that's a nice tie in because Gerard, I apologize for this. I was at use sports on Friday when I got the news of Jim Brown's passing. Were you on air when the news came out on Friday?

Yes, we like anyone else and everyone else. We had a show plan to run down everything else and Jim Brown's passing superseded that. So we shifted gears and went to that and pretty much spent their entirety of the show discussing his legacy.

What he represents and what he means, Cleveland, what he meant to us on a personal level and things of that nature. So yes, we were on air breaking news and it was broke.

What did you, what did, what did he mean to you as a player?

Great question, Bo. And from a player perspective, what he represented was when he was on the offensive side of ball. So you saw an offensive player that had the mentality. I feel of a defensive player in that it's about aggression. It's about attacking.

It's about giving after someone and making a person pay the price if they're going to come to contact with you. They're going to know that they had a battle in the process of that. So when I watched him playing, I was always amazed at just how physically dominant his physical prowess on the football field.

And though I didn't see him play live as a kid or anything like that or as a man, I can respect what I saw on film that, hey, if you put Jim Brown in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, guess what? He's going to still dominate.

Joe said, well, I'm going to hold that for a second. We talked yesterday about it. And you know, his, his, him out front on civil rights, when it was a, that is, I don't know, you know, we were in tough times now in terms of tumultuous times.

Go look at the late 60s kids. If you want to see tumultuous times. When you think about, I believe in 1968, Martin Luther King and Robert Kennedy both assassinated in the same year.

So you have a lot of this is, this is like the height of that time in American history from, from, from that part in terms of being a black man and a black NFL player. What did his, his being out front on that? How aware of that? Were you when you played in the league? How aware of that? Were you as you were coming up?

Not that much aware of it growing up or even when I was in college became more aware of it as I started paying more attention to Muhammad Ali story when I saw an expose on Bill Russell and you're right and Joe's right in that climate and in that time for what they did.

I think back, you for me with the boxer and Jack Johnson. Of course. All right. So for those who are not familiar with him, basically was the first one of the first world heavy weights that was black and he was pretty much seen as a pariah socially because he went against all the social or raise. He's like, hey, you know what?
