Was clay, sheep, servant, child, friend, lover. Remember what we used to do the hierarchy of metaphors? That's what came to mind.

Okay.

Different, fresh, and it gives us a chance to make some comments about each sort of stage there.

So honored that you're listening in and we pray that these are deeply helpful to you in many ways and invite you to tell others, pass the word on, and have them tune in.

I have been invited to give a chapel talk at a Christian college next month, and I've been thinking a lot about it.

I've been praying a lot about it for a couple of reasons.

One, because I really want to offer what is most helpful, and I just, I'm aware that I am walking into a

hornet's nest there, that, you know, there's a number of people that would love to find a

reason to dismiss John Eldridge. And, and I don't want to provide them that. At the same time, there are things that I think I see about contemporary Christianity and Christian

college and what the students they are experiencing.

But I also can't just charge in.

And so I've been trying to live in what Jesus said when he said,

I only say what the Father tells me to say, and he adds, and I only say it, the way he tells

me to say it. And I'm just so aware of that going in. I could be both naive and foolish, or I could be arrogant and stir up things that I don't,

aren't mine to take on.

Okay.

So with that introduction, so here's what I've been thinking about, because it's caused me to

think a lot about where I find the majority of Christians living and the kind of Christian life that I find them living.
