Atheist John Loftus has challenged Christians with the outside a test of faith.

He believes that if Christians examined their own faith with the same level of skepticism

they do other faiths, they would reject it.

One guest David Marshall is the author of How Jesus Passes the Outside a Test.

A resident of China, he debated Loftus examining why among other factors the global success

of Christianity means that it passes the test.

This is part one of a two-parter of their conversation.

So let's jump in to this first part of whether Christianity passes the outside a test.

Well today on the programme we're asking does Christianity pass the outside a test for

faith?

This phrase is familiar at any level.

It will be because one of my guest, our atheist guest today John Loftus, has been on the

programme a few times before.

He's well known online as an atheist and for some books which he claims debunk the Christian

faith.

The so-called outside a test for faith is something he's formulated and he believes

shows that Christians, if they were to examine their beliefs as skeptically as they treat

other belief systems, well that they would abandon their faith.

We're going to be hearing from John and reminding ourselves of exactly what this outside
