Michael Monks is here because the big story of the day is an actual cleanup of a fairly large homeless encampment.

It must be Karen Bass entering election season now.

They're actually cleaning up encampments.

It's along Oxnard Street near the 405, near the Burbank Boulevard exit.

And not only were homeless people being dragged away, but protesters showed up.

And there was a little bit of mayhem.

You know, never a day goes by in Los Angeles without at least a little bit of mayhem. Today,

no exception, of course. As you noted, this was a homeless camp in Van Nuys near the 405 freeway

described as the largest homeless camp in the San Fernando Valley. And the cleaning of this site was part of Mayor Bass's Inside Safe program.

This is her program that she monitors, that she created as part of her election.

It's in her office where homeless camps are remediated.

And the folks who are living there can voluntarily agree to receive temporary housing.

So it's not like their tents and supplies are just taken from them and they're left to rummage

...
