Here with C.J. McCollum of the Portland Trailblazers, the new president of the National

Basketball Players Association. We're here on 6th Avenue in the PA's offices. C.J., how are you,

man? I'm great. I appreciate you having me on the pod, man. Thanks for the introduction.

I got to get used to it.

People call me Mr. Prez.

They're singing the songs, but it comes with a lot of responsibilities. and privileged to be in this position and thankful forward and look forward to continuing to

build on what CP and the others have done before me.

So you had been involved in the Players Association.

You've been a vice president for a few years.

Let me ask you this.

Why?

Why would you want to be president?

And take on, it is enough to play on a contender in this league the way you do

in portland but this is a lot of responsibility it's a lot of time it's a lot of headaches to be

honest along with the good things but why why take this on why run i felt like it was the next

step in my progression i haven't been a part of the executive committee for four years, sitting in on meetings, you know, kind of going through that process of learning more about our league, learning more about some of the issues we've had, learn more about some of the things that we've done well, some of the things we can improve on. I felt like I wanted to really impact the next generation. I felt like from education standpoint,
