0:32.9	Many people assume that the Christmas story begins in a manger in Bethlehem, but you can see the
0:38.1	beginning of the Christmas story all the way back in Genesis. So what does Adam and Eve's
0:42.7	rebellion in the Garden of Eden have to do with our celebration of Christmas? That's our focus
0:48.4	today as Alistair Begg teaches from Genesis chapter 3.

1:14.7	And make the book live to me. For Jesus' sake, amen.
1:31.0	All of us, I'm sure, have heard of celebrating Christmas in July, but we may never have given any thought to discovering Christmas in Genesis. And what I want to do is just that. Look into the book of Genesis in order that we might see Christmas. Strictly speaking,
1:39.9	in order that we might see Jesus, and since Jesus is the center of Christmas, then that
1:48.1	is our desire.
1:50.9	And my text this morning, which is the 15th verse of this chapter, is a text which provides
1:57.2	us with the first glimmer of the gospel. In the movie and in the soundtrack of the
2:06.9	sound of music, they sing at one point. Let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start.
2:15.4	And when we think in terms of the gospel, the story of all that God has
2:20.1	done in and through the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, we find ourselves beginning right here.
2:28.3	A hint of a coming Redeemer, the one who is the seed of the woman. Now, in doing this, and by necessity,
2:40.2	our study this morning will have to be selective rather than exhaustive, and some of you
