Summary

Christian Horner is the team principal of Red Bull Formula 1 racing team, which now officially holds the world title in drivers and constructors championships. An iconoclast and a one-off, he was the youngest team principal of a F1 racing team when he took over, nearly 20 years ago. He’s still the youngest team principal today. But his path to the top of the podium was not an easy one. Initially turning to team management in a desperate bid to stay in the sport when his driving career was flagging, for a while he was the sole driver, the lead engineer, the marketing and managing director of a veritable racing one man band. Now running an organisation of over 1200 people, Christian is one of the biggest characters on Formula One: Drive to Survive, the Netflix smash hit that has brought an entire new generation of fans into the sport, and the first generation to see for the first time the stresses and stakes of running a team that pushes people and machines to the edge of what’s possible, every single week.
