Hey there. Welcome to Food Ball with Grant Wall. Thanks so much for joining me. Today's

0:11.7

interview guests are Esmeralda Negrone and Susie Petrochelli of Atta Football. We've

0:18.5

had some great guests lately including Christine Kupo, Andy Harper and Janine Becky. So check

0:24.6

out those out. But first, let's talk some soccer with my friend Chris Wittingham who you can

0:30.5

hear on Univision Inter Miami Radio, the Dan Levitard show and the Chelsea miced up podcast.

0:37.0

Chris, thanks for joining me. How are you? Doing all right, sir? How are you? Late night

0:41.4

recording following a US game? It is 11.07 pm Eastern on Sunday night. The US is just

0:47.8

beaten Haiti 1-0 early goal from Sam Vines. Kind of a grim performance though. Yeah. It was

0:57.1

not the best of performances from the US. It was actually kind of in not a usual way, which

1:04.3

is normally they're very kind of incipit in the attack and they don't put numbers forward

1:09.2

and they're being careful and not really fully committing themselves into a first group

1:12.6

game. But it was actually kind of the opposite, which was I thought the United States was

1:16.0

incredibly stretched in this game. And in some ways, the US is kind of playing under a tactical

1:21.6

model that I think is probably a little bit outdated now where both fullbacks get forward and both

1:27.3

sentiment fielders get forward out of a 4-3-3. And there are times with these massive spaces

1:32.5

in the middle and on either side of the two centerbacks. And that's a lot for Jackson,

1:37.5

Ewell, Miles Robinson and Walker Zimmerman to cover. So for me, it was just kind of positionally

1:42.2

the game was wild and look, Haiti took advantage and tried to strike on the counter of a couple

1:46.4

of occasions. But it wasn't kind of a usually weird US performance. It was kind of in a different

1:52.0

way and a more burhaltary way. And I guess it makes for more entertaining game. But in the end,

1:57.6

not really the most convincing US performance. Yeah. I'm with you on that. I mean, Haiti's not a

2:03.3

bad team. This team made the semi-files of the goal cup last time. They've got some decent players.
