Summary

Andrew Ti, host of the "Yo, Is This Racist?" podcast, joins Gaby to talk about the ways that money is part of a system which is, in fact, pretty racist. We often assume that earning lots of money helps to erase class distinctions - but as Andrew explains, it actually only makes things more complicated. Learn more about your ad choices. So before on this show, we've done a check-in on me where I read from my bank account what

0:15.2

I've spent money on in the past few weeks, just a sort of like a look back on what's

0:22.5

going on with me and also what I'm prioritizing and what I'm spending my hard earned money

0:27.7

on, let's say, and also in the interest of transparency for this podcast. And I wanted

0:33.3

to do that again because in the interest again of that beautiful word transparency, I've

1:50.6

into my budget. I've also been paying my student loans. I mentioned that briefly. I took

1:55.7

over my student loans from my parents. So that's $105 here, $340 there, both going to student

2:03.4

loans. And one of my checking accounts is incredibly low right now. I have two checking accounts.

2:10.8

And one is down to $29, which is not great. And then I spent $37 at Staples yesterday

2:16.4

buying a prop for a sketch. So I'm doing great.

2:33.4

Gabby done here your aforementioned Blast of Sun. And I'm still bad with money.

2:49.5

We've talked about the wage gap between men and women many times on bad with money. In

2:57.4

particular, in our episodes with Lexi Alexander and Sally Croscheck. Lexi and Sally gave us

3:02.2

detailed descriptions of the sexism women face in the workplace. And I've told you all
