When I think about the book of Joshua and the 23 chapters we have surveyed thus far,

the one thing that jumps out and that I emphasize as we went through it is not one word

that he has spoken has failed. That God has kept his promises. We have watched the

unfolding of the promised land that God had promised Abraham all the way back in chapter 12 of

Genesis. Six hundred years later, God fulfilled every word. there were reasons for those delays, but God keeps

his word. Yet we see regularly, often in scripture, where God changed. He went in another

direction. So how can a changeless God changed? And I gave an illustration in scripture of Moses.

God told Israel, when they refused to believe him and go into the

promised land, he was going to destroy them and start all over with Moses. And then it says,

but Moses prayed. And Moses told God, but if you do that, you will mess up your name among the

unsaved and your glory will be shattered.
