Song 8, Jehovah is our refuge.

Focus, to remind us of the reasons why we have chosen to serve Jehovah.

Paragraph 1. Question. What must we do to be genuinely happy, and why?

Our Heavenly Father loves us deeply, and he wants us to enjoy life now and in the future.

He created us with some outstanding talents,

but he did not give us the ability to be successful at ruling ourselves

or at setting our own criteria of right and wrong.

He knows that in order for us to be genuinely happy,

we must serve him and live by his standards.

Isaiah 48, 17, and 18 reads,

This is what Jehovah says, your repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel. I Jehovah

am your God, the one teaching you to benefit yourself, the one guiding you in the way

you should walk.

If only you would pay attention to my commandments, then your peace would become just like a river,

and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
