trip to South America right now. He's currently in Peru, meeting with leaders from the Asia-Pacific

region before he heads

over to Brazil.

But another high-profile event happening tonight in Peru is likely to eclipse Biden's visit.

That is the inauguration of a huge commercial port built by China with President Xi Jinping in attendance

as a guest of honor.

The city of Chianghai used to be a sleepy fishing and farming village in the Pacific coast of Peru.

It was popular with tourists and birds migrating from North America until a Chinese company

started building a huge commercial port there.
