On September 22nd, 1796, a young woman brutally killed a member of her family. However, when

most hear her name, the murder she committed is not necessarily what they remember her for. So if you

Mary Ann Lamb was born on December 3rd, 1764 in London, as a third of what would be seven children born to John and

Elizabeth Lamb, though only two others would survive. At the time of Mary's childhood, both of her

parents worked for a man named Samuel Salt.

A barrister in the city, the family lived above Salt in his home in the inner temple, where Mary

learned all that she could about literature and writing from her father.

Having seen a few well-known authors herself in person, Mary showed a deep love and interest in the art

and began pursuing her passion. Unfortunately, in 1792, Samuel Salt passed away, and the Lamb family
