Hi, my name is Cheryl.

I grew up down the street from Christine Mahalich.

I still remember the day she disappeared. What I was

doing. I used to pass her every day. Her coming home from elementary school and

me from the middle school and suddenly she wasn't there anymore. It really

shook our small little community and that's when we started locking our doors and

stuff. I think this is the reason I've become such an overprotective mother.

My daughter is 20 now and I still say, watch your surroundings, watch that no one's following

you because I know it could have happened to any of us.

We went to the same stores as Christina did that day she was kidnapped.

So that's all I can tell you about it.
