From the land of the free and the home of the chiefs, this is the

locked on chiefs podcast. Well, ahead of the chiefs I made a move.

Hiran Matthew is now a Kansas City chief. That is a big signing for Kansas City and he allows for a lot of scheme

versatility. He does. I just got off of YouTube Live so folks go check that out if you want to ask

questions or whatever there's a bunch on there.

And I agree with you man that versatility is probably his biggest thing.

He's played a lot of strong safety and a lot of slack corner for teams over the years.

He did play a couple of games at free safety for the Texans and I'm going to have to go back and watch that film because I didn't actually realize that until I looked it up. But the most interesting thing for me is Nate Taylor said specifically that they signed him to be the

center fielder. Yeah. So that's interesting. I do I do have questions and

reservations about this signing.

Matthew has had injury issues.

He did play 17 games last year though.

Yep, no, he did play the whole season last year and that's a great point.

But I do like this move a lot more than I would have liked Earl Thomas because

Matthew is a lot younger and like I said scheme versatility is going to be huge.

Now the one thing that I do think is

very interesting is that they kept this a three-year deal, which means that

Matthew will be coming off his last year as a chief assuming he plays all three years in

Kansas City on that deal the same year that Mahomes is deal will be over.

Mm-hmm. I do think there is some correlation there.

Yeah, maybe.

You know, it's about timing.
